MECL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 – Apply for 13 Executive Trainee Posts

Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Mini-Ratna-I CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, has released Advertisement No. 02/Rectt./2026 for the recruitment of 13 Executive Trainees in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines through UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2024 scores. Online registration is open from 1 August to 14 August 2026.

MECL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026

Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) has announced 13 vacancies for Executive Trainees in Electrical and Mechanical branches. This recruitment drive offers direct entry into a Miniratna-I Central Public Sector Enterprise for candidates who qualified the written stage and appeared for the interview of UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024, but were not recommended for final selection.

Candidates who consented to share their scores under UPSC’s Public Disclosure Scheme can submit their applications through the MECL online recruitment portal. The crucial date for determining age, qualification, and category eligibility is 1 August 2026.

MECL Post-Wise Vacancy Breakup

A total of 13 Executive Trainee positions are distributed across different divisions as outlined below:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a B.E. / B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Indian University/Institute approved by AICTE/UGC. Open and Distance Learning (ODL) degrees are strictly not permissible.

UPSC ESE 2024 Mandate: Applicants must have cleared the Written Examination of UPSC ESE 2024 in Mechanical or Electrical discipline, appeared for the Personal Interview round, and consented to share their information on the UPSC website under the Public Disclosure Scheme.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026): Maximum 28 years for Unreserved (UR) candidates. Upper age relaxations apply as follows:

• SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 33 years)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years relaxation (Up to 31 years)
• PwD Candidates: 10 Years relaxation for General, 13 Years for OBC, 15 Years for SC/ST

Selection Methodology

Shortlisting of candidates will be carried out strictly in decreasing order of marks scored in the UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024 (Score out of 1200) in the respective discipline.

No Separate Written Exam or Interview: MECL will not conduct any separate written examination or personal interview. Shortlisted candidates will directly be called for a Document Verification round.

Tie-Breaking Rules: In case two or more candidates score identical marks in UPSC ESE 2024, inter-se merit will be decided by:

1. Seniority in Age (Older candidate ranked higher).
2. Higher aggregate percentage of marks in the B.E. / B.Tech degree.

Remuneration, Training & Service Bond

• Pay Scale & Training: Selected candidates undergo 1 year of training as Executive Trainees at an initial Basic Pay of ₹40,000/- per month in E-1 Pay Scale (₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000/-). Upon successful completion of 1 year probation/training, they are confirmed in E-1 grade.
• Allowances & Benefits: Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA), HRA, Cafeteria allowances, Provident Fund, NPS, PRP, Group Medical Insurance, and house building / vehicle loans.
• Service Bond & Security Deposit: Appointees must execute a Service Bond of ₹1.8 Lakhs to serve MECL for a minimum period of 36 months. A monthly deduction of ₹5,000/- as a security deposit will be made from salary, which will be refunded without interest upon completing 36 months of service.

Payment must be made online via Net Banking or by scanning the official MECL Bank QR Code provided on the portal. Fee once paid is non-refundable.

6. Pay the application fee of ₹500/- online (if applicable) and enter payment proof details.
7. Submit the form and print out a copy of the system-generated application for future reference.
