RRB Group D Result 2026
From November 27, 2025 to February 10, 2026, the Computer Based Test (CBT) for CEN 08/2024 was administered by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for 32,438 Level 1 positions across the Indian Railways. Over 1.08 crore candidates had applied for this recruitment, and around 60 lakh appeared for the exam across multiple shifts and centres. The CBT consisted of 100 questions and lasted for 90 minutes. For each correct response, one point was awarded, and for each incorrect response, one point was deducted.
On July 1, 2026, the RRB posted the CEN 08/2024 result on the respective zonal RRB websites. The list of candidates who have been provisionally shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is currently available. For each Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), RRB has selected candidates equal to three times the community-specific vacancies, with the exception of PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and CCAA candidates who are already represented in that community. This is only a confirmation that you have passed the CBT stage; it is not the final selection list.
A case in the Telangana High Court over how much weight should be given to Act Apprentice marks in the final merit list held up the declaration for months. RRB has proceeded with the result now that that case has been resolved, though 15 positions remain reserved until the writ petition is finally resolved. Individual scorecards displaying raw marks, normalized marks, and category-by-category status went live at 6 p.m. that day and can be downloaded until 11:55 p.m. on July 16, 2026.

CBT Qualifying Marks & Normalization
To be considered for the next recruitment stage, candidates are required to meet the minimum qualifying percentage benchmarks established for their respective categories in the CBT:
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Percentage Required |
|---|---|
| Unreserved (UR) / General | 40% |
| Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) | 40% |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 30% |
| Scheduled Caste (SC) | 30% |
| Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 30% |
PwBD candidates may get a relaxation of up to 2 marks in the qualifying percentage if there is a shortage of candidates against the reserved vacancies. RRB converts raw marks into a normalized score for each shift because the CBT was performed over multiple shifts. This normalized score, not the raw score, is what determines the final merit list.

Subsequent Recruitment Stages (PET & Beyond)
The Physical Efficiency Test, or PET, is a qualifying exam that does not award any marks to the shortlisted candidates. The RRB does not directly perform the PET, in contrast to the CBT. Along with document verification, the medical examination, and the final panel, it is handled zone-by-zone by the Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) of the respective zonal railways. NFR candidates, for instance, will receive their PET call letter and schedule from RRC Guwahati, not RRB Guwahati.
Although the PET dates have not yet been announced, earlier RRB communications point to offline mode in August 2026. Candidates with PwBD don’t have to take the PET at all and can go straight to document verification, but they still have to pass the medical exam. Everyone else only gets one shot at the weight-lifting and running tests; if you fail either one, there is no second chance.
| Gender Category | Weight Lifting Benchmark | Running Benchmark |
|---|---|---|
| Male Candidates | Carry 35 kg weight for a distance of 100 metres within 2 minutes | Run a distance of 1000 metres within 4 minutes and 15 seconds |
| Female Candidates | Carry 20 kg weight for a distance of 100 metres within 2 minutes | Run a distance of 1000 metres within 5 minutes and 40 seconds |
