North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong has released an updated vacancy notification (F.No. EST-II-RSRD0APSR/1/2024-Estt.II) under its Rolling Advertisement for the recruitment of Senior Resident Doctors (SRD). A total of 58 vacancies are available across 25 different specialty and super-specialty departments. NEIGRIHMS Senior Resident Doctor 2026 Notification Overview

NEIGRIHMS Shillong conducts periodic screening of applications received under the Rolling Advertisement framework. The current recruitment notification establishes the 2nd Cut-Off date as 7 September 2026 for assessing candidate eligibility and shortlisting for personal interviews.

The advertised vacancies include regular as well as backlog seats. Candidates from General and other categories may also be considered for ad-hoc appointment against vacant posts of reserved categories (marked with asterisk*) in specific departments if reserved candidates are unavailable.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Essential Educational Qualification:

• Postgraduate degree (MD / MS / DNB) in the respective field/subject after obtaining a medical qualification included in Schedule I & II of the 3rd Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.
• Satisfactory completion of compulsory rotating internship after MBBS.
• Valid Registration Certificate with any State Medical Council (SMC) or National Medical Commission (NMC).

2. Age Limit (As on 07.09.2026):

• Upper age limit is 45 years as on the cut-off date.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years
  • PwBD Candidates: As per Government of India norms

3. Scale of Pay & Allowances:

Level 11 of the Pay Matrix with an initial basic pay of ₹67,700/- per month plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other admissible allowances under Central Government rules.
