Meghalaya Secretariat Grade IV Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 153 Posts

The Secretariat Administration Department (Nazarat), Government of Meghalaya has released an official recruitment advertisement (No. SAN.66/2019/89) for filling up 153 Grade IV vacancies in the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for posts including Peon, Cleaner, Sweeper, Chowkidar, and Mali in Level-1 of the Pay Matrix. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official portal from 17 August 2026 up to 18 September 2026 (5:00 PM).

Meghalaya Secretariat Grade IV Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Secretariat Administration Department (Nazarat) is conducting a combined recruitment drive to fill 153 Grade IV vacancies across various support roles in the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat.

In line with Government Office Memorandum No. PER(AR)58/2024/36 dated 29 July 2025, there will be no personal interview for Grade IV recruitments in the Government of Meghalaya. Candidates will be selected solely on the basis of their performance in the written examination.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed Class VI (6th Standard) from a recognized school or board.

2. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026):

• Candidates must be between 18 years and 32 years of age as on 01.01.2026.
• Upper Age Relaxation:
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Scheduled Castes (SC): 5 years relaxation (up to 37 years).
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs): As per Office Memorandum No. PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18.01.2023.
• Accepted Proof of Date of Birth: Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Board / Health & Family Welfare Department, School Certificate, or HSLC Admit Card.

Scheme of Examination & Selection Process

Selection will be made through a written examination conducted by the Departmental Selection Committee:

• Negative Marking: There will be negative marking for incorrect answers as specified in the question paper instructions.
• No Oral Interview: There is no personal interview in respect of Grade IV recruitments in the Government of Meghalaya.
• Post Allocation: In case a candidate qualifies for all categories of Grade IV posts, the Departmental Selection Committee reserves the right to decide the final post allotment.

• E-Challan (Cash Payment): Select “Payment across Bank Counter” on the portal, generate the e-challan, and pay in cash at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI). (No need to submit the physical challan copy to the department).

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the official recruitment portal. Follow these instructions:

1. Visit the official portal at https://rpa.meghalaya.gov.in.
2. First-time users must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process with an active email ID and mobile number.
3. Log in using your registered credentials.
4. Select the Grade IV post(s) you wish to apply for (Peon, Cleaner, Sweeper, Chowkidar, Mali).
5. Fill in all required educational, personal, and communication particulars accurately.
6. Select your preferred Examination Centre from Shillong, Tura, Jowai, Nongstoin, or Nongpoh.
7. Upload scanned copies of recent coloured passport-size photograph, signature, and necessary certificates according to the portal specifications.
8. Pay the examination fee online through UPI/Card/Net Banking or generate an SBI e-Challan.
9. Submit the online application form on or before 18 September 2026 (up to 5:00 PM) and retain a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
