ISRO URSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026

U.R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is the lead centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for conceptualization, design, development, fabrication, testing, launch, and in-orbit management of satellites.

URSC invites online applications for one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Amendment Act 1973 from candidates who passed their Degree or Diploma in Engineering / Commercial Practice in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026. The online registration window opened on 29 July 2026 and will remain active until 28 August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria & Rules

Passing Year Requirement: Only candidates who passed out their qualifying degree/diploma examination during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 as regular candidates are eligible to apply. Candidates who passed prior to 2021 are not eligible.

Ineligibility Conditions: Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, or possess 1 year or more of work experience, or completed private/sandwich/short-term courses, or are currently pursuing higher studies are NOT eligible.

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply.

Aadhaar & Bank Account Seeding: Applicants must ensure their Aadhaar number is seeded with their bank account and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payments.


Selection Process

Selection will be made purely on academic merit without any written exam or interview:

  1. Shortlisting of candidates based on the aggregate percentage of marks / CGPA obtained in the relevant Degree or Diploma.
  2. Document verification of shortlisted candidates at URSC, Bengaluru.
  3. Preparation of final merit panel discipline-wise and category-wise.
  4. Issuance of engagement orders via email based strictly on rank position in the merit panel.
Note: Shortlisted candidates called for document verification will not be paid any Travelling Allowance (TA) and must arrange their own boarding/lodging.

Applications must be submitted through a two-step online process via NATS and UMANG portals:

Step 1: Enrollment on NATS Portal

  1. Visit the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at nats.education.gov.in.
  2. Enroll yourself by uploading your Degree/Diploma Certificate and Government ID proof.
  3. Generate and note down your 16-digit NATS Enrolment / Apprenticeship Registration Number.

Step 2: Form Submission on UMANG Portal

  1. Go to the UMANG portal web link at web.umang.gov.in/landing/.
  2. Register & log in, then search for ‘URSC Apprenticeship’.
  3. Click on ‘Apply for Position’ and select your preferred trade/discipline.
  4. Enter your personal, educational, and NATS Enrollment Number compulsory details.
  5. Upload scanned copies of required documents in JPG/JPEG/PNG format:
    • Semester / Year-wise consolidated marks certificate (Single PDF / image up to 1 MB).
    • Degree / Diploma Passing or Provisional Certificate (up to 1 MB).
    • Recent passport-size photo (up to 50 KB) and signature (up to 50 KB).
    • Latest Caste / EWS / PwBD Certificate (up to 50 KB).
  6. Verify all entered details carefully and submit the application form.
