Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division), Digboi Refinery has released an official admission notification (Ref No. CSR (N)/GNM-2026) for admission into the 3-year full-time General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course for the academic session 2026-27 at Assam Oil School of Nursing (AOSN). Applications are invited from eligible unmarried/married female Indian nationals who have appeared in the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE-2026). The online application process will commence following the announcement of the GNMEE-2026 results.

Assam Oil School of Nursing (AOSN) is a flagship CSR-funded institution of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division), Digboi. The institute provides quality nursing education along with residential hostel accommodation, medical benefits, and monthly stipends.

The admission is strictly based on the performance in the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE-2026), followed by document verification and medical fitness examination. A total of 30 seats are available for the 2026-27 batch.

Digboi Legislative Constituency (DLC) Quota: 06 (Six) seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Digboi Legislative Constituency. Candidates claiming this quota must produce the Voter ID card and Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of self or parent. If unfilled, these seats will be merged into the Unreserved merit list.

Eligibility Criteria for IOCL Digboi GNM Admission

1. Gender & Marital Status:

  • Only Female Candidates (Indian Nationals) are eligible to apply.
  • Both unmarried and married female candidates are eligible for admission.

2. Age Limit (As on 31.12.2026):

  • Minimum Age: 17 years.
  • Maximum Age: 35 years.
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates against reserved seats.
  • For Registered ANM (RANM) candidates, there is no age bar.

3. Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • 10+2 passed with English and a minimum aggregate of 40% marks in the qualifying examination and in English individually from any recognized Board/Council (State Open School / NIOS recognized by Central Govt. are also eligible). Science stream is preferred.
  • OR 10+2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational ANM course from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • OR 10+2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational Stream – Healthcare Science from a recognized CBSE/State/Central board.
  • OR Registered ANM with pass marks from the State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Relaxation: 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC/ST candidates as per INC norms.
  • GNMEE-2026: Candidates must possess a valid Roll Number and score in the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE-2026).
Ineligibility Clause: Candidates possessing higher professional degrees such as BE, B.Tech, MBA, CA, CS, CMA, LLB, MCA, Ph.D., or equivalent are NOT eligible to apply.

Selection Process & Merit List Preparation

  • Entrance Exam Score: Selection is based on the score obtained in the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE-2026).
  • CSR Weightage: Since AOSN is a CSR-funded project, preference is given to economically weaker sections. The final merit list is prepared considering the GNMEE score and weightage of the family income certificate (FY 2025-26).
  • Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of a tie in total marks, merit is determined by:
    1. Higher marks in English in GNMEE.
    2. Higher marks in General Science in GNMEE.
    3. Higher marks in Mathematics in GNMEE.
    4. Marks in English, then General Science, then Mathematics in Class X (HSLC) Examination.
  • Document Verification & Medical Exam: Shortlisted candidates must undergo document verification and must be declared medically fit by the competent medical board at AOD Hospital.

Stipend, Training & Additional Benefits

Selected nursing candidates receive financial support, accommodation, and internship benefits during and after the course:

1. Monthly Stipend during Course:

  • 1st Year: ₹2,500/- per month
  • 2nd Year: ₹2,700/- per month
  • 3rd Year: ₹2,900/- per month

2. Facilities:

  • Free hostel accommodation (mandatory stay at Nursing College hostel).
  • Medical attention for self at AOD Hospital, Digboi.
  • Uniform provided free of cost.

3. Post-Course Internship Opportunity:

  • After successful completion, candidates will be compulsorily engaged as working interns for 1 year (extendable up to 2 years at IOCL’s discretion).
  • Internship Stipend: ₹15,250/- per month at AOD Hospital (plus additional ₹1,000/- per month if placed at other IOCL hospitals). Hostel accommodation is not provided during the internship period.
