IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment 2026
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the official notice for the 16th edition of the Common Recruitment Process for Specialist Officers in 11 public sector banks. This recruitment covers 745 vacancies for the year 2027-28 across six posts: IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR or Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer, all at Scale I.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of settling in India permanently.
The age limit is 20 to 30 years as on 1 July 2026. This means applicants must be born between 2 July 1996 and 1 July 2006, including both dates. You can check your exact eligibility using the age calculator before applying. Age relaxation is available as follows:

Fees can be paid online only through debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, or UPI. Any bank transaction charges for the payment must be paid by the candidate.
Selection Process
The selection process happens in three stages as described below:
Online Preliminary Examination
Candidates who clear the Preliminary Exam are shortlisted for the Main Exam. Those who clear the Main Exam move on to the Interview stage.
Online Main Examination & Interview
Only the marks scored in the Main Exam count toward shortlisting for the Interview and the final merit list. Preliminary scores are not carried forward. The Main Exam and Interview scores are combined in an 80:20 ratio for the final score.
The minimum qualifying mark in the Interview is 40% for General category candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates. Shortlisted candidates are then provisionally allotted to one of the participating banks based on merit and preference.

- Log back in with your provisional registration number and password, and complete the online application form carefully, since most fields cannot be edited later.
- Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, and 10th standard certificate as per the specified format and size.
- Pay the application fee or intimation charge through the online payment gateway.
- Submit the form, then download and save the system-generated application form along with the e-receipt for future reference.
