AIIMS NORCET 11 Recruitment 2026 – Apply for 2218 Nursing Officer Posts

The Examination Section of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has officially released Notice No. 103/2026 for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 11. A total of 2,218 Nursing Officer (Group B) vacancies have been reported across 27 participating institutes and hospitals, including 188 posts at AIIMS Guwahati. Eligible candidates can register online from 24 July 2026 to 13 August 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).

The Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 11 is a national-level central recruitment test conducted by AIIMS New Delhi to fill Nursing Officer posts across 27 AIIMS institutes and central government hospitals nationwide.

Candidates who have previously registered under One Time Registration (OTR) in any AIIMS entrance/recruitment exam must log in using their existing credentials. For candidates in Assam and the North-East region, AIIMS Guwahati has announced 188 Nursing Officer vacancies, making this one of the largest nursing recruitment drives in the region this year.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Candidates can apply through either of the two recognized qualification routes as on 13 August 2026:

Route 1 (Degree Candidates):

• B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized Institute / University; OR
• B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an INC / State Nursing Council recognized Institute / University.
• Registered as Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
• Experience: NIL (Fresh degree holders are eligible).

Route 2 (Diploma Candidates):

• Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an INC or State Nursing Council recognized Board / Council.
• Registered as Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 2 (two) years of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds, completed after acquiring the essential qualification and nursing council registration.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The crucial date for calculating the age limit is 13 August 2026:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Upper Age Relaxations:

• SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 35 years)
• OBC Candidates: 3 Years relaxation (Up to 33 years)
• PwBD Candidates: 10 Years relaxation (PwBD + OBC: 13 Years | PwBD + SC/ST: 15 Years)
• Ex-Servicemen: Military service duration + 3 Years
• Central Govt. Civilian Employees (3 yrs service): 5 Years relaxation (8 yrs for OBC, 10 yrs for SC/ST)

Application Fee

Payment must be remitted online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. SC and ST candidates who actually appear for the Stage I examination will receive a 100% fee refund after result declaration and caste verification.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection procedure for NORCET 11 consists of two computer-based examination stages:

Stage I: NORCET Preliminary (Screening Exam | 100 Marks):

• Total Questions: 100 MCQs (80 Nursing Subjects + 20 General Knowledge & Aptitude)
• Duration: 90 Minutes (divided into 5 sectional modules of 18 minutes each with 20 questions)
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) mark deduction for each wrong answer.
• Qualifying Standard: 50 percentile for UR/EWS, 45 percentile for OBC, 40 percentile for SC/ST.
• Candidates equal to 5 times the vacancies in each category will qualify for Stage II Main.

Stage II: NORCET Main (Final Selection Exam | 160 Marks):

• Total Questions: 160 MCQs (Case scenario-based practical competency questions)
• Duration: 180 Minutes (4 sectional modules of 45 minutes with 40 questions each)
• Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) mark deduction for each wrong answer.
• Final Merit List: Prepared strictly on the basis of Stage II marks alone.

Applications are accepted online only through the AIIMS official portal. Follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of AIIMS Exams at www.aiimsexams.ac.in and open the ‘NORCET-11’ portal.
2. Log in using your existing One Time Registration (OTR) credentials or register as a new user.
3. Fill out personal information, academic qualifications, council registration numbers, and experience details.
4. Upload scanned copies of recent passport photo, signature, and left thumb impression strictly adhering to prescribed file dimensions.
5. Government/Contractual employees must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on or before 18 August 2026.
6. Pay the application fee online through the payment portal.
7. Submit the online form and download/print out a copy of the Registration Slip and fee receipt for future reference.
