ISRO ICRB Recruitment 2026 Notification

The ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) under the Department of Space, Government of India, has published a detailed notification for direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Stenographer in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix.

The online application link opened on 27 July 2026 and will close on 16 August 2026 at 11:59 PM. Selected candidates will be posted in various ISRO Centres, Units, and Autonomous Bodies located across the country with attractive Central Government pay and perquisites.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualifications, experience, and skills required for various posts in ISRO ICRB Recruitment 2026:

1. Assistant & Upper Division Clerk (UDC) (Post Codes 1, 3 & 5):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Graduation must have been completed within the minimum stipulated duration of the course prescribed by the University.
  • Proficiency in the use of Computers is required.

2. Junior Personal Assistant (JPA) & Stenographer (Post Codes 2, 4 & 6):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10 OR Diploma in Commercial / Secretarial Practice with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10.
  • Minimum 1 (one) year of experience as a Steno-Typist / Stenographer.
  • A minimum speed of 60 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English Stenography.
  • Proficiency in the use of Computers is required.
Note: Apprenticeship Training Certificate under BOAT/NATS for Diploma holders in Commercial/Secretarial Practice is considered equivalent to one year of Steno-Typist/Stenographer experience.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The age limit is calculated as on the closing date of application, i.e., 16 August 2026:

  • Unreserved (UR) / EWS Candidates: Maximum 28 years (Born on or after 17 August 1998).
  • OBC Candidates: Maximum 31 years (Born on or after 17 August 1995).
  • SC / ST Candidates: Maximum 33 years (Born on or after 17 August 1993).

Upper Age Relaxations:

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 Years relaxation over and above category relaxation.
  • Ex-Servicemen & Central Government Employees: Relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules.

Pay Scale & Allowances

Selected candidates will be appointed in Level-4 of the Pay Matrix with a minimum basic pay of ₹25,500/- per month.

In addition to Basic Pay, employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, New Pension Scheme (NPS) benefits, medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidized canteen facilities, House Building Advance, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per ISRO rules.


Application Fee & Refund Policy

All candidates must initially pay a uniform processing fee of ₹500/- per application online. However, the actual application fee component is ₹100/-:

Fee payment must be remitted online via Bharatkosh e-Payment Gateway using Internet Banking, UPI, or Domestic Debit/Credit Cards on or before 16 August 2026.


Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process comprises two successive stages: Written Test followed by Skill Test / Stenography Skill Test.

Stage 1: Written Examination (Objective Type | 150 Minutes)

  • Assistant & UDC: Test covers General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Knowledge.
  • JPA & Stenographer: Test covers Part A (English Language & Comprehension – 100 Qs), Part B (General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 Qs), and Part C (Quantitative Aptitude & General Knowledge – 50 Qs). Total 200 Questions / 200 Marks.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50% for UR and 40% for Reserved Categories in notified reserved vacancies.

Stage 2: Skill Test / Computer Literacy Test / Stenography Test

  • Shortlisted candidates in 1:5 ratio will be called for Skill Test. Skill Test is purely of qualifying nature.
  • Assistant / UDC: Computer Literacy Test. Qualifying marks: 60% (UR) / 50% (Reserved).
  • JPA / Stenographer: Computer Literacy Test + Stenography Skill Test (300 words @ 60 wpm shorthand with 30 minutes computer transcription). Stenography error limit: Max 10% (UR) / Max 12% (Reserved).
