The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura published a detailed Public Notice regarding the appointment of the first Vice-Chancellor of the newly established Tripura University of Health Sciences (TUHS).

This public notification facilitates the identification of eligible and distinguished medical educationists for consideration by the Hon’ble Chancellor under Section 9(vii) of the Tripura University of Health Sciences Act, 2026. Interested candidates possessing at least 10 years of experience as a Professor in Modern Medicine can submit their application form along with complete supporting documentation on or before 7 September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the post of Vice-Chancellor at TUHS must satisfy the following statutory eligibility parameters:

Academic & Administrative Competence: The candidate must possess high academic and administrative competence, integrity, strong moral character, and institutional commitment along with a distinguished academic record.

Teaching & Administrative Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience as a Professor in Modern Medicine in an institution recognized or permitted by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Proven leadership and experience in academic and institutional governance are essential.

Age Limit: The maximum age of the applicant must not exceed 68 years as on 31 August 2026.

Applicants must attach self-attested copies of the following supporting credentials along with the prescribed application form:

1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
2. Proof of Date of Birth / Age proof document.
3. Caste Certificate (where applicable).
4. Copies of all educational qualification certificates and marksheets.
5. Evidentiary proof of working as a Professor in Modern Medicine for not less than 10 years in an NMC-recognized institution.
6. Complete list of research publications and academic or administrative achievements.
7. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer (wherever applicable).
