Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

1. Jr. Grade of MLS (Legal Officer) – Advt. 17

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a University recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Experience: Must be actively practicing as an Advocate in Courts of Civil and Criminal jurisdiction for not less than 3 (three) years as on the last date of application (Certificate of practice from the Mizoram Bar Association or concerned State Bar Association required).
  • Age Limit: 21 to 35 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).

2. Junior Scientific Officer (JSO) – Advt. 18 (12 Posts)

  • JSO (DNA) – 3 Posts: M.Sc. in Forensic Science / Human Genetics / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Genetics or Molecular Biology.
  • JSO (Fingerprint) – 3 Posts: M.Sc. in Forensic Science.
  • JSO (Chemistry) – 2 Posts: M.Sc. in Forensic Science / Chemistry / Biochemistry.
  • JSO (Ballistics & Toolmarks) – 1 Post: M.Sc. in Forensic Science / Physics / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics OR B.E. (Civil/Mechanical).
  • JSO (Questioned Documents) – 1 Post: M.Sc. in Forensic Science.
  • JSO (Photography) – 1 Post: M.Sc. in Forensic Science (Digital/Multimedia Forensics) OR B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/Electronics.
  • JSO (Cyber Forensic) – 1 Post: M.Sc. (Cyber/Digital Forensics) / M.Sc. Forensic Science (Digital/Cyber/Multimedia Forensics) / B.Tech in Cyber or Digital Forensics / MCA / M.Sc. IT / B.E. in Computer Science.
  • Desirable: Working experience in a recognized Forensic Science Laboratory.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).

3. Sub-Inspector of Excise & Narcotics – Advt. 19

  • Qualification: Graduate in Arts, Commerce & Science or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).
  • Physical Measurement:
    • Height: Male – 156 cm | Female – 150 cm
    • Chest: Male – 77 cm (Normal), 82 cm (Expanded) | Female – 72 cm (Normal), 74 cm (Expanded)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
    • 100m Race: Male – 15 sec | Female – 30 sec
    • 800m Race (Male): 3 minutes | 400m Race (Female): 3 minutes
    • High Jump: Male – 108 cm | Female – 80 cm
    • Long Jump: Male – 366 cm | Female – 244 cm

4. Assistant Sub-Inspector of Excise & Narcotics – Advt. 20

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).
  • Physical Measurement:
    • Height: Male – At least 160 cm (5 ft 3 in) | Female – At least 155 cm (5 ft 1 in)
    • Chest: Male – At least 84 cm (Normal), 89 cm (Expanded) | Female – At least 75 cm (Normal), 76 cm (Expanded)
    • BMI: Normal BMI value (± 20%)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (150 Marks, Qualifying: 60 Marks): High Jump (30 marks), Long Jump (30 marks), 100m Sprint (45 marks), 1 km Race (45 marks).

5. Soil Conservation Ranger – Advt. 21

  • Qualification: Degree in Forestry or Agriculture or Agricultural Engineering or Horticulture or Science from a recognized University. (Selected candidates must complete Forest Ranger Training during probation).
  • Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).

6. Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) in Police – Advt. 22

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as on 1 August 2026 (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST).

    • Male (General): Height 168 cm | Chest 84 cm (Normal), 89 cm (Expanded)
    • Male (SC/ST): Height 163 cm | Chest 79 cm (Normal), 84 cm (Expanded)
    • Female: Height 157 cm | Minimum Weight: 45 kg
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
    • 1 km Race: Men – 5 minutes | Women – 7 minutes
    • 100m Race: Men – 15 seconds | Women – 20 seconds
    • High Jump (3 chances): Men – 1.00 m | Women – 80 cm
    • Long Jump: Men – 3.30 m | Women – 2.25 m

Common Mandatory Eligibility Conditions

  • Computer Proficiency: Required as prescribed under the Mizoram Group ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
  • Mizo Language Proficiency: Must achieve pass marks in the qualifying test of Mizo Language Proficiency. Candidates who studied Mizo subject in Class-X (HSLC) or above in Mizoram, or opted for Mizo subject as MIL outside Mizoram, are exempted.
