The Office of the Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam, Rupnagar, Guwahati has released an official recruitment advertisement (Advertisement No. DLR-11013(21)/50/2025/372) inviting online applications afresh for filling up 579 vacant posts of Land Record Assistant (LRA) under the amalgamated establishment of District Commissioner’s offices (except Sixth Schedule areas). Eligible candidates who have completed the 6-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre and are declared proficient can submit their applications online via the official portal at sebaonline.org. The last date to submit online applications has been extended up to 31 October 2026 (5:00 PM).

The total 579 vacancies of Land Record Assistant are distributed across various reservation categories and include horizontal reservations for women (RFW), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen:

Horizontal Reservations Breakdown

• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD): 16 Posts (Category A: 7, Category B: 3, Category C: 4, Category D: 2).
• Ex-Servicemen: 6 Posts.

Note: Vacancies are compiled as received from the District Commissioners across non-sixth schedule districts of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Land Record Assistant (LRA) post must satisfy the following technical, educational, and age qualifications:

• Mandatory Technical Qualification: Candidates must have completed the 6-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati-40, and must have been declared proficient in the mandated examination by an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys etc., Assam in both Survey and Settlement subjects prior to 13 August 2026 (Govt. Notification No. LA&A/429557/158).
• Computer & Typing Proficiency: Proficiency in computer usage with a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) in English and 15 words per minute (WPM) in Assamese or Bengali.
• Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026):
  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Upper age relaxation for reserved categories is admissible as per Government OM No. ABP.6/2016/51 dated 02/09/2020.
  • Age proof will be verified on the basis of Class-X / Class-XII Admit Card, Pass Certificate, or Marksheet issued by a recognized Board/Council.
• In-Service Candidates: Candidates already in Central/State Government service must apply through the proper channel and produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the respective Head of Department during document verification.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

The selection structure comprises two components carrying a cumulative total of 100 marks:

1. Written Examination (Paper-I) – 80 Marks

• The examination will be of Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions – MCQs).
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

2. Skill Test (Paper-II) – 20 Marks

• Practical test assessing computer proficiency and typing speed (English and Assamese or Bengali).
• Conducted only for candidates qualifying the written examination.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The final merit list will be prepared based on aggregate marks secured in the Written Examination and Skill Test, subject to securing the minimum qualifying cutoff in both segments and qualifying document verification.
