Assam Navodaya Admission
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has released the official notice for the selection test for Navodaya Admission 2027-28 for Class VI. Students who wish to study at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas must apply online for this selection test, known as JNVST. Every year, NVS conducts JNVST to find and select deserving students for admission into Class VI. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas were set up by the Government of India. They offer various facilities to help bright students from poor families achieve their academic goals.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Navodaya Admission
District: Only candidates from the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located can apply for admission.
Age Limit: A candidate must have been born between 1 May 2015 and 31 July 2017, including both dates. This rule applies to all categories.
Current Study: A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class V for the entire academic year 2026-27 in a Government or Government-recognized school in the same district where they want admission.
Previous Admission: A candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class V before 31 July 2026 cannot apply.
Attempt Limit: No candidate can appear for the selection test a second time, under any circumstances.
What is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test?
As we know, the number of seats available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is limited. To deal with this, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts a selection test called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Admission to JNVs is given by NVS based on the marks scored in JNVST. JNVST is the main process for getting admission into Navodaya Vidyalayas.
Composition of JNV Selection Test
The selection test will last for two hours, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. It will have 3 sections with only multiple-choice questions. There are 80 questions in total for 100 marks.
