HAL Design Trainee & Management Trainee Recruitment 2026

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has officially invited applications from young and result-oriented engineering graduates for engagement as Design Trainees (DTs) and Management Trainees (MTs) under Advertisement No. HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026.

The online registration portal opened on 29 July 2026 and will remain active until 14 August 2026 up to 14:00 hrs. Selected candidates will undergo a 52-week training programme and, upon successful completion, will be absorbed as Engineers in Grade-II Scale across HAL’s Production Divisions, R&D Centres, and Offices across India.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification: Regular / Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or its equivalent from recognized Universities/Institutions in India under the 10+2+4 or 10+3+3 (lateral entry) pattern in the notified eligible branches. Integrated 5-year B.E./B.Tech degree holders are also eligible.

Final Year Students: Candidates currently in the final year/semester of their engineering degree may also apply provisionally, provided they have secured the prescribed aggregate percentage up to the last semester at the time of applying and can submit proof of passing during the interview.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The upper age limit is 28 years as on 14 August 2026 for Unreserved (UR) and EWS category candidates. Category relaxations apply as per Government rules:

  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 33 years)
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years relaxation (Up to 31 years)
  • PwBD Candidates: 10 Years relaxation (over and above SC/ST/OBC-NCL relaxation)
  • J&K Domicile (1980–1989): 5 Years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen / Commissioned Officers: Up to 5 years relaxation

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection procedure comprises an All-India Online Computer-Based Selection Test followed by a Personal Interview at Bengaluru.

Interview Shortlisting & Final Weightage: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 based on online test merit. The final merit list will be prepared assigning 85% weightage to the Online Test and 15% weightage to the Personal Interview. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in both the test and interview to qualify.


Stipend, Service Bond & Emoluments

  • Training Stipend: During 52 weeks of training, trainees receive a Basic Pay of ₹50,000/-, Variable Dearness Allowance, Canteen Allowance, and Bachelor Accommodation.
  • Pay Scale on Absorption: Absorbed as Engineers in Grade-II scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000/- along with Cafeteria perquisites, HRA, PRP, Provident Fund, and Gratuity.
  • Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates must execute a 5-year service bond (excluding training period). In case of breach, candidates are liable to reimburse actual training expenses up to a maximum of ₹15,00,000/-.
