APSC Recruitment 2026
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) released Advertisement No. 11/2026 on 3 August 2026 for recruiting 137 Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO) posts under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Assam. Online applications will be accepted from 7 August 2026 to 6 September 2026, and the fee can be paid up to 8 September 2026.
This recruitment drive represents one of the largest single-cadre vacancy announcements by APSC for veterinary graduates. Posts for Ex-Servicemen: 2 posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Applicants must upload the Ex-Servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office of Assam along with the Discharge Book.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold at least a Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from any recognized University or Institution.
Residency & Domicile: The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. As proof of domicile, applicants must upload either a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes or a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate of Assam.
Small Family Norms: Every applicant has to submit a declaration in Form-A relating to the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019.
Age Limit
The candidate must not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as on 1 January 2026. Age relaxations apply as follows:

Age will be calculated strictly from the Class X or Class XII Admit Card, Pass Certificate, or Marksheet issued by a recognized Central or State Board where the date of birth is clearly printed.

Selection Process
The selection procedure will be notified later by APSC through a corrigendum or addendum. The Commission will decide the mode of selection based on the number of applications received.
Depending on candidate volume, the examination or test may be conducted zone-wise across six zones: Silchar, Jorhat, Nagaon, Tezpur, Kokrajhar, and Guwahati.
