The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam declared the D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 results. The revised admission schedule has been released, with the Round 1 institute allotment result and cut-off marks set to be published on 6 August 2026.

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam declared the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 result on 27 July 2026 at 4:30 PM. Candidates who appeared in the entrance test on 12 July 2026 can check their marks, rank, and scorecards for admission into the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for the 2026–2028 academic session across 4,150 available seats.

Online counselling opened on 28 July 2026 and was extended up to 3 August 2026 due to the flood situation in several districts of Assam. SCERT has published the revised admission schedule, according to which the seat allotment process resumes with the Round 1 result of institute allotment and cut-off marks on 6 August 2026.

Merit List & Cut Off Marks

The merit list is prepared district-wise from the marks scored in the Pre-Entry Test. In every district, 30% of total seats are reserved for candidates from the Science stream, while 70% are reserved for candidates from Arts and other streams. Separate merit lists are drawn up for these two stream groups.

Reservation for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), PWD, and EWS categories is applied as per the Reservation Policy of the Government of Assam. For PWD quota, candidates with a benchmark disability of not less than 40% (Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, or Orthopedically Handicapped) are considered.

There is no single state-wide cut-off mark. Because ranking is district-wise and stream-wise, cut-off marks vary across different districts and institutes. SCERT releases institute-wise cut-off marks along with the allotment result of each round.

Fees Payable at Allotted Institutes

The annual fees fixed by SCERT for Government Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) are payable online directly to the respective institute:

The total fee payable at admission for a day scholar in a Government institute comes to approximately ₹2,700. In contrast, the total annual fee in a private Teacher Education Institute is ₹34,000 (including ₹21,600 tuition fee).

Documents Required at the Time of Admission

Candidates must bring the original copies along with self-attested photocopies of the following documents during physical reporting:

1. PET 2026 Admit Card and Score Card.
2. HSLC Admit Card / Certificate (Proof of Age).
3. Higher Secondary (10+2) Pass Certificate and Marksheet.
4. Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority (if applicable).
5. EWS or PWD Certificate (if applicable).
6. Permanent Residence Proof / Certificate.
7. Self-undertaking stating that you are not pursuing any other regular course in the same session.
8. Recent passport-size photographs.
